Experience and approach
Sally qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and has been assisting clients to resolve their business disputes since then, both in the UK and internationally. Her career includes working in the dispute resolution department of one of Bangkok’s largest independent law firms.
Sally is friendly and approachable and is committed to resolving disputes pragmatically and diligently. She is commercially astute and has a common sense approach that takes account of the bigger picture and the commercial viability of the potential action. Sally has a proven track record of achieving settlements without the need for formal legal action. When court or arbitration proceedings are required, Sally takes clear and decisive action, while continuously exploring settlement opportunities through negotiation and mediation.
Areas of expertise
- Corporate Disputes – Sally covers shareholder and director disputes, including unfair prejudice and derivative claims; breaches of shareholder agreements, directors’ fiduciary duties, partnership disputes, sale and purchase agreements (including warranties and indemnities), and corporate fraud.
- Contract and Tort Claims – Resolving breaches of contract, restrictive covenants, and confidence; handles misrepresentation, negligence including professional negligence, economic tort claims, distributor, agent, and franchise disputes and restitution claims including unjust enrichments, and debt recovery.
- Intellectual Property – Dealing with trademark oppositions, invalidation applications, claims for trademark infringement, passing off, copyright and design right infringement.
- Commercial Property Disputes – Managing business tenancy issues such as lease renewals, dilapidations, forfeiture, breaches of repairing covenants, and landlord-tenant disputes for commercial landlords of residential property.
- Defamation and Negligent Misstatement – Addressing claims related to defamation and professional negligence.
