Richard is Rix & Kay’s Managing Partner and a specialist commercial property lawyer based in Kent. He is a member of the Leadership Team responsible for the continued growth of the firm.
With over 25 years experience in commercial property in Ashford, Sevenoaks and throughout the South East, he works with some of the firm’s most important clients, helping them to manage their commercial property interests to deliver both sustainable revenue streams and a sound base for successful business operations.

As a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association, he has a detailed understanding of the rural property sector and the particular needs and issues that are often presented to those who are managing land development projects, farms and agricultural property, as well industrial and business parks.

Developing long-term strategic partnerships
Richard has acted as the trusted legal advisor to a family farming business for many years. He recently guided the family through the acquisition of a 143 acre farm including simultaneous negotiation of a surrender of Agricultural Holdings Act tenancy and subsequently acting on the disposal of the majority of the farmland to a prospective housing developer with a leaseback on a Farm Business Tenancy.
