Michaela is known for her empathetic nature when working with her clients. She puts herself in their shoes and sees things from their perspective so that she can make things as easy for them as possible. Michaela builds good working relationships with her clients, ensuring that their estates are dealt with in a practical manner; she keeps her clients aware of what is happening in clear and concise terms, without the need of unnecessary legal jargon.

Michaela’s clients

Most of Michaela’s clients are bereaved individuals who are trying to deal with the estate of a loved one who has passed whilst grieving their loss. She assists them with the estate by obtaining a grant of probate for them and with cashing in the funds of the estate, paying out any liabilities and distributing the estate on their behalf.

Experience and approach

Michaela has worked in the legal industry for the last 10 years. While working at a prior firm, she started in the Personal Injury sector before crossing over to private client. Here, she gained experience in Will writing, creating Lasting Powers of Attorney and dealing with probate matters from start to finish. She started at Rix & Kay Solicitors in August 2023 as a Probate Executive where she deals with a wide range of probate matters, but has since taken on the role of Paralegal; whether this be fairly simple estates or complex estates, she deals with inheritance tax forms, probate applications and distribution.

Losing someone you love is an awful thing to have to go through and to have to deal with legal and financial matters on top of this can be an extremely hard thing to do. Especially as probate matters can be a very complex and time-consuming process and by assisting her clients with this process it allows them the time the time they need to grieve.
