Later Life Team Assistant

Katherine is a key member of the firm’s Later Life Team based in Brighton & Hove and assists appointed Deputies and Attorney’s for clients across the South East and beyond.   She provides support to individuals as part of the firms wider care planning and concierge service and her work ranges from paying care fees to arranging emergency plumbers and everything in between.

She also provides legal support to the Later Life Team and has experience in the subtle nuances between Deputyship and Financial Affair Management under Powers of Attorney.  Her areas of expertise include drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney, registering Enduring Powers of Attorney and preparing Court of Protection applications.

Katherine’s clients

Katherine works in partnership with many of the regions older generation, who have either lost capacity and are unable to run their own financial affairs or people who do not wish to deal with their own finances any longer, or require a little assistance here and there.  Often her clients have little or no family, or perhaps have family who are abroad and require someone to support their loved ones when they are unable to.

Experience and approach

Katherine provides dedicated one-to-one support for individuals and their families and clients often remark that, without her, they would find it difficult to run their lives or assist relatives in theirs.  She is often the first friendly voice at the end of the phone and is able to quickly understand the dynamic between people in care and their family members.  She always acts in an appropriately sensitive way, particularly when clients do not wish to burden their family with certain issues that may be perceived as trivial.
