Jonathan Laws
– Trainee Solicitor –
Jonathan joined Rix & Kay in October 2023 as a Corporate and Commercial Paralegal, where he assisted on matters dealing with business acquisitions and disposals, corporate restructuring and corporate governance, etc.
He then started his training contract, with his first seat in Commercial Property. Eager to apply the knowledge, skills, and experience he acquired from Corporate and Commercial, Jonathan engrossed himself in the variety of transactions, including the sale and purchase of commercial properties, grant and renewal of business leases, and commercial property planning.
Jonathan has now started his second seat in Dispute Resolution. He supports the team in a variety of commercial and property disputes as well as debt recovery matters.
Prior to joining Rix & Kay, Jonathan studied law at the University of Exeter and then the Legal Practice Course at BPP University in Cambridge.
Jonathan’s clients
Since joining the Dispute Resolution team, Jonathan assists clients across diverse categories, encompassing local, national and international businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals offering expertise across various disputes.
Experience and approach
From a young age Jonathan wanted to be involved in the law, as it is such a relevant and dynamic sector. He is particularly interested in the way in which law and business intersect.
Jonathan provides support to the senior lawyers in the team in order to achieve our goal of making law easy for our clients.
Jonathan has the benefit of being trilingual, having grown up in France and Portugal.
Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys watching football, rugby and playing golf.
Jonathan is also one of Rix & Kay’s representatives at Jurismus, the junior lawyers’ division of Eurojuris International.
