Jonathan Laws
– Trainee Solicitor –
Jonathan joined Rix & Kay in October 2023 as a Paralegal. He took his initial seat in Corporate and Commercial, where he assisted on matters dealing with business acquisitions and disposals, corporate restructuring and corporate governance etc.
Following completion of his first seat, he has now started his training in Commercial Property, and is eager to apply the knowledge, skills and experience he acquired from Corporate and Commercial.
Prior to joining Rix & Kay, Jonathan studied law at the University of Exeter and then the Legal Practice Course at BPP University in Cambridge.
Jonathan’s clients
Since joining Commercial Property, Jonathan assists clients across diverse categories, encompassing local, national and international businesses, entrepreneurs, developers, and high net worth individuals offering expertise across the commercial property.
Experience and approach
From a young age Jonathan wanted to be involved in the law, as it is such a relevant and dynamic sector. He is particularly interested in the way in which law and business intersect.
Jonathan provides support to the senior lawyers in the team in order to achieve our goal of making law easy for our clients.
Jonathan has the benefit of being trilingual, having grown up in France and Portugal.
Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys watching football, rugby and playing golf.

- sale and purchase of commercial properties
- grant and renewal of business leases
- drafting ancillary and principle documents
- acting for clients through their commercial property requirements
