Georgina’s Work
In-house HR Management Support
Georgie works on-site for a client two days a week as their in-house HR Manager. As well as being on-site for employees to meet with her in person to discuss HR-related matters such as issues related to health and wellbeing, family leave, flexible working and grievances, Georgie works closely with the management team to assist in managing and resolving immediate staff issues.
Georgie’s presence onsite means she is able to attend meetings with managers and employees and be directly involved in ensuring adherence to best practice and legal compliance in all aspects of HR management, such as disciplinary, capability and redundancy procedures, and as well as preparing all necessary and legally compliant documentation as required.
Georgie reviews, develops and implements HR policies and procedures including analysing existing HR programmes and recommending solutions, such as new processes and procedures for managing probationary periods, structured induction planning, including being on-site to conduct HR induction meetings, developing a performance management process and delivering bespoke training for managers. Georgie also considers the longer-term HR strategy for the client such as organisational culture changes in connection with mental health awareness and the implementation of a Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
Redundancy
Georgie worked closely with a client assisting them in successfully managing a difficult restructuring and redundancy process. Georgie provided support and advice from the outset including the identification of the relevant ‘pool’, development of selection criteria and scoring guidelines, providing guidance and detailed scripts for each consultation meeting and preparing all the supporting documentation in line with relevant employment legislation.
Disciplinary
Georgie regularly works closely with clients to manage situations involving employee misconduct. She provides detailed advice and support throughout the entire process including advising on the initial investigatory stage, how to handle difficult conversations, preparing scripts for managers to follow during disciplinary meetings, advising on handling the appeal process and providing paperwork in connection with warnings or dismissals, all whilst ensuring compliance with best practice and employment legislation.
