Rix & Kay, a leading regional law firm with offices in Sussex and Kent, is once again supporting the annual Sussex Sports Awards 2019. The awards, organised by Active Sussex and now in their 17th year, will take place at the Brighton Metropole on the 22 November and will be hosted by Olympic legend Kriss Akabusi.

The theme for 2019 is Sussex Superheroes and the evening will provide an opportunity to showcase and celebrate everything that is super about Sussex sport and physical activity, and the achievements made by both the county’s elite athletes and those at grassroots level.

Rix & Kay has long supported the Sussex Sport Awards and is delighted to be involved again in 2019. The firm is promoting the Sussex Sport ‘Team of the Year’ award where three outstanding teams have been shortlisted – Worthing College Under 19 Netball Team; Sussex Thunder Netball Team and; University of Brighton’s Men’ Rugby Union 1st Team.

Bruce Hayter, Rix & Kay’s Chairman, who has worked closely with Active Sussex and their Chief Executive, Sadie Mason MBE for many years commented,

“Rix & Kay is well known across Sussex and Kent for supporting both professional and grass roots sports clubs and our involvement with Active Sussex and the Sussex Sports Awards is something we are very proud of.

“In 2019, we have also been privileged to work alongside Active Sussex, helping to drive the agenda forward for disability sport in Sussex and Brighton, joining other organisations to discuss how to tackle social isolation and how sports clubs, from professional to grassroots, can ensure that those with disabilities have the opportunity to play and succeed in the sport they love”.
