Stewart Gregory Commercial Property and Healthcare Partner
South East law firm, Rix & Kay, has announced the hire of healthcare property specialist, Stewart Gregory, from national and City firm Browne Jacobson. With over 20 years’ experience of leading real estate development projects and other property work on behalf of healthcare organisations including NHS Trusts, GPs, Clinical Commissioning Groups, and ambulance trusts, Stewart joins Rix & Kay’s established commercial property team based in Brighton & Hove.
The move further supports Rix & Kay’s continued investment in the healthcare sector where it has already established itself as a leading provider of legal services to care homes across Sussex and Kent. Rix & Kay’s M&A activity is growing steadily with further deals lined up for 2018. In November last year, Rix & Kay completed the sale of Broadham Care, who managed eight care homes in the South East, to Elysium Healthcare.
The appointment of Stewart Gregory adds high-level sector expertise to the team which will allow Rix & Kay to provide strategic, governance, and regulatory advice around complex property projects in the healthcare sector.
“The challenges in the healthcare sector are dominated by funding issues married to the increasing pressure to improve services to patients. There’s a huge need to deliver more care services away from our traditional NHS hospitals but it’s finding the resources to be able to deliver that. Supporting GPs and other care providers to establish modern, flexible, fit-for-purpose healthcare centres that can accommodate a greater range of services can be part of the solution.
My challenge at Rix & Kay is to work with other professionals to help the likes of GPs and care providers to deliver outstanding services from an efficient property estate, whilst enabling them to operate as sustainable and successful organisations.”
Stewart’s remit at Rix & Kay is to grow the firm’s healthcare sector by working in partnership with GPs, NHS organisations, and care providers whilst complementing the firm’s existing and extensive work with care home providers.
