Alistair Rustemeyer, Partner and key member of Rix & Kay’s Dispute Resolution Team in Brighton & Hove has qualified as an Associate Member of ACTAPS (The Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists). Alistair’s appointment comes after two years of study in conjunction with the University of Law.
Associate Members of ACTAPS must complete training across a range of highly specialised areas of contentious trust and probate law which are designed to help clients, who may want to challenge a Will or Trust, to secure a quicker and more cost effective resolution of a dispute.
Specialist areas range from breach of trust, capacity and psychiatric issues, sham trusts and forced heirship, community property and fraud, trust claims; right through to the use of the Court to resolve internal trust disputes; asset tracing; and forms of attack on Wills and Intestacy.
“As well as a personal achievement, becoming an Associate Member of ACTAPS means Rix & Kay has additional resource capable of providing specialist contentious wills and trusts advice to individuals. It’s an area of law that can often be challenging but I’m looking forward to supporting individuals who may find themselves caught up in the unfortunate position of a family or personal dispute.”
Alistair’s appointment is part of Rix & Kay’s wider plan to offer the full range of dispute resolution services to individuals and businesses and complements the firm’s other areas of litigation expertise including high value commercial disputes; restructuring and insolvency; property disputes; and construction disputes.
