We are now accepting applications for training contracts 2025
We are looking to recruit our Partners of the future through our Trainee Solicitor Scheme. At Rix & Kay we are committed to finding and developing talented individuals who are passionate about the law. We offer a structured training programme and our legal training contracts that allow you to establish the skills you need to achieve your aspirations. You will work with a wide variety of clients, both local and national, private and commercial.
We are looking for trainees who have achieved a high academic standard. Preference will be given to those with a 2.1 degree, although a 2.2 will be considered if you are able to demonstrate additional skills or experience. You must show initiative, motivation and the ability to organise yourself, as well as be commercially aware. During your training programme within specialist departments, you will be expected to work as part of a team and have the personality and confidence to excel in whatever you do, both in and out of the workplace.
Trainees may be required to undertake seats in any of our Brighton & Hove, Uckfield and Hadlow offices and it is important that they have the flexibility and willingness to do so.
How to apply
If you have completed your LPC or your SQE1 & SQE2 exams
If you have already completed your LPC or are expected to complete your LPC by September 2025; or have already completed both your SQE1 & SQE2 exams (or would of done so by September 2025), then you can apply for our traditional Trainee Solicitor Contract. To apply, please complete Rix & Kay’s Traditional Trainee Solicitor application form and return it, along with your CV to scottgarner@rixandkay.co.uk.

Rix & Kay remains hopeful that it will still be able to offer a fully funded Solicitor Apprenticeship Scheme and details will be published here following the government’s decision on funding that is expected to be published in Summer 2025.
Unfortunately, until then, Rix & Kay is not accepting applications for it’s Solicitor Apprenticeship Scheme. For all the latest announcements, follow us on LinkedIn.
