Rix & Kay Trainee shortlisted for top award
Rix & Kay trainee solicitor Jordan Ismail has been shortlisted for the prestigious LawNet Trainee of the Year Award 2024/25. Jordan, who is a second-year trainee, made the shortlist for his outstanding legal and personal skills and his overall contribution to Rix & Kay’s business & practice development.
The LawNet Awards and Annual Conference take place on 15 November 2024 where the winner will be announced. The Annual Conference is the flagship event in the LawNet calendar each year, attracting world-class speakers and bringing together senior partners and management teams from across the network to debate key industry issues.
Jordan joined Rix & Kay as a conveyancing assistant in 2022 and was quickly earmarked for a training contract after making an immediate impact at the firm through his understanding of legal process, coupled with his exceptional presentation skills and personable nature. He was awarded a training contract a year later following his work on ‘The Future of Conveyancing’ that he presented to Rix & Kay’s Strategic Board. His work in this area considered the potential impact of critical developments in the industry such as the use of AI, blockchain and a digital revolution.
Jordan has since undertaken six-month seats in each of Rix & Kay’s Residential Property Team and Dispute Resolution Team and has just begun his third, joint, seat in the firm’s Corporate and Employment teams.
Earlier this year, Jordan attended the Jurismus International Congress with fellow Trainee, Jonathan Laws. The Conference, titled ‘Lawyers in Orbit’ was a tailor-made event for the next generation of legal professionals. Both Jordan and Jonathan led initiatives that helped promote Rix & Kay, LawNet, Eurojuris and Jurismus through a range of activity including a targeted communications campaign.
Kathryn Paisley, Partner and Head of Corporate at Rix & Kay commented,
“Jordan has had a significant positive impact since joining Rix & Kay just over two years ago. We continue to be impressed by his technical ability, his agility and his willingness to learn and develop. He is a proven self-starter with the potential to be a next-generation lawyer in a leadership role”.
