Rix & Kay’s corporate team has completed the sale of a highly-regarded learning disability care home in East Sussex. The team was led by Kathryn Paisley, Head of Corporate at Rix & Kay, acting on behalf of the owners. The deal follows the original purchase of the care home in 2002 when Rix & Kay’s team advised the same owners on their original acquisition. Over the course of 20 years, the care home has flourished into a successful business before being passed into new ownership earlier this year.
Kathryn Paisley, who led the recent sale of the care home commented,
“We’ve worked alongside the owners of this care home for more than 20 years, advising them in relation to their business and personal matters. It’s hugely satisfying to know that they put their trust in our expertise to guide them on such an exciting and rewarding journey, right through to a successful exit. It’s quite remarkable to think that the latter part of that journey involved navigating the business through a global pandemic and one that had a seismic impact on the care sector.”
“It’s a huge testament to the way Rix & Kay nurtures long-term successful relationships with businesses and their owners. Our investment in understanding what makes businesses and individuals tick, from the business environment in which they operate, right through to emotional drivers, is fundamental to that success.”
The care home was established in 1972 and is run from two properties set within spacious grounds, providing residential care services for a maximum of 30 adults with learning disabilities, each having a varying level of dependency from mild to moderate. In recent years the outgoing owners have made many changes, with much of the accommodation having been extended and refurbished.
During their 20 years in charge, the outgoing owners gained an enviable reputation locally for their work in the sector.
