Chartered Legal Executive - Brighton & Hove
The Government has announced plans to extend the moratorium on residential evictions (due to end on 22 February 2021) to the end of March 2021. The changes to the regulations are awaited with regards the date it will be extended to and whether there are any changes to the exceptions. One of the exceptions is currently ‘substantial’ rent arrears, being the equivalent of 6 months rent, and if order for possession was based on a section 8 notice made wholly or partly under Grounds 8, 10 or 11 of Schedule 2 of the Housing Act 1988.
