Drought for Developers

26th July 2012 | Written by David Ashton

Just as the hosepipe bans brought a deluge of rain will the commencement of Schedule 3 to the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 (1 October 2012) mean we are in for another dry winter.

The 2010 Act seeks to address the issues of serious flooding caused when surface water run off overloads conventional pipe drainage systems.

Developers will need to be aware of these provisions with regard to the design of their schemes and the additional costs and timing when assessing the profitability of any planned development.
