Hilary Hughes - Partner, Head of Tax Planning Unit

Hilary has been practising since 1976 and joined Rix & Kay in 1985.

She specialises in Tax Planning, Wills and Trusts and administering complex estates. Her particular interest is in protecting and providing for people with disabilities. As well as being a panel Receiver appointed by the Court of Protection, she is also a Committee member of the Sussex Branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a member of Solicitors for the Elderly.

Hilary is Vice-Chairman of Wealden & Eastbourne Lifeline a community alarm and response organisation run on a not for profit basis, and chairs their finance sub-committee. She is also on the finance committee of St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Church in Mayfield.

She enjoys skiing, scenic cycle tours and all aspects of Italy, and once hired a chauffer driven elephant for a wild life safari in India.
