Frances specialises in catastrophic personal injury and clinical negligence work and heads the Catastrophic Injury Team at Rix & Kay.
She has been a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel since 1996,
is on the Headway Personal Injury Solicitors List and actively supports Headway. She is Chairwoman of the campaigning group Kent Acquired Brain Injury Forum and sits on the
Legal Services Commission’s Special Cases Unit as well as being the Honorary Secretary
of Kent Law Society.
Frances is known for her sympathetic and ethical approach, she leaves no stone unturned to achieve maximum compensation for her clients. Most of Frances’ work involves those with severe brain and spinal injuries, amputees and severe post traumatic stress disorder. She ensures that her clients receive the appropriate rehabilitation as quickly as possible after she is instructed.
She secured damages exceeding £5 million last year and her thorough preparation and fair but uncompromising presentation of cases makes her a formidable advocate for her clients.
Frances’ commitment to her clients and their families extends beyond the immediate business of their case – she really cares and ensures a hand picked expert team is behind every one of her cases.
Born in Canterbury, Frances was a nanny before she qualified as a solicitor. She has specialised in personal injury work since 1990, working as a partner at Girlings Solicitors and then for Thomson Snell & Passmore before joining Rix & Kay in 2007. She is a devoted godmother, and likes to travel to her husband’s native Australia when she finds the time.
